hello

My name is Kiairra and my furry companion is Jack! In October 2017, I withdrew all my retirement money and savings and moved to California from Alabama with no job and no place to live. Within the month I secured a job and within 5 months, I found an apartment. As many of us know, living in California is expensive but I love this state and knew its some where I wanted to live. For the next two years I struggled to pay bills at my apartment and knew something had to change.

Fast forward to April 2020, a lot changed, including my mindset about living in full time in California. I decided that I did not want to live a stationary lifestyle, at least not right now. I ended my apartment lease and purchased a very used RV for $4000. A 1990 Chevy Mallard to be exact. I fell in love with how it looked and in haste, I purchased this RV from a private seller without knowing much about RVs. I knew a few things to look for and a few questions to ask, but of course the private seller was trying to sell it quickly and was not truthful about many things. Needless to say this RV needed a lot of work, mechanically and cosmetically.

I named her The Behemoth! A 35 foot monster! For the first month, I parked my RV on a public street in Corona, CA. While there I did as much work, cleaning and organizing as I could without having consistent electricity. I stayed there until I got reported for living in my RV. The police were kind and gave me time to vacate the street. I then decide it was finally time to start my RV journey! I had visited Lake Elsinore a few weeks prior to buying my RV and knew that it was on my list of places to stay! I decided to reside in Lake Elsinore while I complete whatever RV repairs that I could. This was made difficult for two reasons. The first being that since I started  this journey during the Covid Pandemic, many RV parks were not accepting new reservations. The second issue was that many RV parks do not allow you to conduct repairs on site. I was able to paint the inside and other small projects while living in Lake Elsinore. Around August of 2020, I decided to come back home to Alabama. My job hours had been cut, due to Covid, which made it difficult to live and pay for RV repairs. It seemed like an opportune time to take a break and regroup. I drove my car to Alabama and left my RV in California while repairs were being conducted.  November 2020, the repair shop informed me that repairs were complete. I flew to California and drove The Behemoth back to Alabama. After 4 long days, I made it to my parents rental property where my RV will reside while I complete the rest of the renovations and repairs.
